Silvia Concas, viola
Silvia Concas was born in Cagliari where she graduated in 2004 at Conservatorio Statale di Musica “G. P. da Palestrina”. She attended the specialization course for Orchestral Professors at Accademia d’Arti e Mestieri Teatro alla Scala under Danilo Rossi, Armando Burattin, Simonide Braconi and Luca Ranieri, obtaining a scholarship for the reached results; Accademia Musicale di Pavia and Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo with Danilo Rossi (principal viola at Teatro alla Scala), with whom he furthered his studies at Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana and obtained a Master of Arts in Music Performance in 2011, a Master of Advanced Studies in Music Performance and Interpretation in 2015.
She worked with symphonic and operatic orchestras sch as Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro alla Scala (under Myung-whun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Franz Welser-Most, Riccardo Chailly, Peter Eötvös, Christoph Eschenbach, Marc Minkowski), Orchestra 1813 in Como (principal violist), Orchestra Filarmonica del Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Bergamo e Brescia, LaFil, and Fondazione Orchestra sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan (under Xian Zhang, Axelrod, Aldo Ceccato and Arturo Tamayo). She moreover performed chamber music for Associazione Mozart Italia in Turin, Circolo Filologico Milanese, Festival Como Città della Musica, Festival di Musica Classica Città di Valdarno.
Since 2016, she has been teaching at Liceo Musicale “T. Ciceri” in Como.
